SUSTAINABLITY
RESPONSIBLY HANDCRAFTED,
FOR THE LOVE OF THE PLANET.
Unreal Fields is proudly designed, manufactured, and shipped from beautiful Portugal. This, in an effort to minimize our carbon footprint, decrease unnecessary production emissions, and lower our negative impact on the planet we call home.
Here are a few of the ways we’re working towards going a step further
- and wearing great shoes while we’re at it.
LOCALLY HANDCRAFTED
SMALL SCALE PRODUCTION
Overproduction and waste are two of the most harmful factors directly associated with fashion that plague our planet. In order to avoid this, all of our collections are launched with a Pre-Order option that allows the team to anticipate production numbers and cut back on excess. We only manufacture the shoes we know we are going to sell. Additionally, all productions are limited to a specific run - which also helps maintain a sense of exclusivity!
MATERIALS THAT MATTER
Since starting Unreal Fields in 2019, we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure that all of the materials we use are of the highest quality and in line with international standards. In order to do this, we have partnered with suppliers who can provide organic and sustainable materials. These account for 50% of all the materials we use to create our products and include: chrome free leather, recycled leather, organic cotton, sustainable cellulosic fiber, recycled polyester, chrome free leather, recycled leather, and others. We hope to increase this number to 80% by the end of 2028 and include other materials such as organic cotton, sustainable cellulosic fiber, recycled polyester.
STARTING FROM WITHIN
We believe that big changes start small - and at home. That’s why, as a small-scale company, we’re also playing our part by adapting each of our routines in an effort to improve our habits. From promoting the use of reusable water bottles by installing a drinking fountain in the office to encouraging more environmentally-friendly practices such as selling/buying secondhand, using green modes of transportation, and keeping a close eye on energy consumption and travel emissions, we’re hopeful that all these little things will add up to a greater cause.
